　　一、on computer还是on a computer
　　
　　两者都可用，意思都是“在计算机上”，其中不带冠词用法抽象意味较强。如：
　　It’s all stored on （the） computer. 全都存储在计算机上了。
　　Ticket reservations are all done on computer. 订票全是在计算机上完成的。
　　Make a backup of any work you do on the computer. 你在计算机上做的任何工作都要备份。
　　
　　二、by computer还是by the computer
　　
　　短语by computer的意思是“用计算机”“通过计算机”，表示方式；注意computer不用复数，且其前没有冠词。如：
　　The winning entry will be selected at random by computer. 获胜者将由计算机随机抽取。
　　Shoppers can send in their orders by computer and pick up their goods later. 购物者可以通过计算机把订单传来，稍后再提货。
　　若用by the computer或by computers，则指的是一个被动动作的执行者（此时的句子谓语应是被动语态）。如：

　　表示打开计算机，英语可用动词turn on，switch on等。如：

　　若指启动计算机，可用动词boot，boot up，start up等。如：
　　It will help your computer boot up faster. 它将有助于你的电脑更快地启动。
　　若指重启计算机，则用动词reboot或 restart。如：
　　You’ll have to switch off and reboot. 必须关机，重新启动。
　　若指登录计算机系统，则用log in ［on］ to，也含有启动计算机的意思。如：

　　四、computer如何“关机”
　　
　　表示关掉计算机，可用动词turn off，switch off，shut off，shut down等。如：
　　Shut off the computer when you’re finished. 你做完活后把计算机关掉。
　　I exited the database and switched off the computer. 我退出数据库，关掉了计算机。
　　若用log off ［out］，则指退出计算机系统。如：
　　Log out before switching the computer off. 关掉计算机电源之前要退出系统。

　　表示把程序或软件装入计算机，可用介词into或介词onto。如：
　　Load the program into the computer. 将程序装入计算机。
