　　本期《CAREFUL》，我们将关注一些中国英语学习者在表达时易犯的画蛇添足式的错误。　　　　Problem One: Coming and Going
　　Examples:
　　1. 我带你去火车站。
　　错误说法：I will bring you to go to the station.
　　正确说法：I will bring you to the station.
　　
　　2. 他是坐火车到这儿来的。
　　错误说法：He took the train to come here.
　　正确说法：He took the train here.
　　
　　点评：
　　在上述错误的表达方式中，“to go”和“to come”是不必要的，而且就是在语法上也是不正确的，因为“go”和“come”所表达的意思已经分别包含在“bring”和“take”里面了，无须再重复强调和说明。像这类表明去向的语意被包含在其它动词当中的现象是十分普遍的，在表达时应加以注意。更多的例子如：
　　
　　Right: I am accompanying my friend to the opera.
　　Wrong: I am accompanying my friend to go to the opera.
　　
　　Right: My uncle brought me here in his car.
　　Wrong: My uncle brought me to come here in his car.
　　
　　
　　Problem Two: Too Many Conjunctions
　　中国人在使用英语进行表达时，尤其是在写作方面，似乎对“and”和“but”这个词情有独钟，使用非常频繁。而更糟糕的是，还经常用这个词来开启一个句子。所以，在这里有两点要提醒大家注意一下。
　　
　　首先，用“and”和“but”来启始一个句子会被认为是一种糟糕的用法。当然，在非正式文体中是可以的，在小说中也可以，不过在一般情况下最好还是避免使用。在开启一句话时，你可以用“also”或“in addition”来代替“and”；用“however”来替代“but”。
　　
　　Examples:
　　Bad: I think Disneyland is too far away. And it"s too expensive.
　　Good: I think Disneyland is too far away. Also, it"s too expensive.
　　
　　Bad: But if we look at the sales figures, we find something completely different.
　　Good: However, if we look at the sales figures, we find something completely different.
　　
　　其次，在英语当中，你不需要过多使用“and”和“but”等连词，具有语意连贯性的句子之间的那种关联性通常是不言而喻的，不必特别进行说明。你所要做的就是把主语明确地表达出来。
　　
　　Examples:
　　Right: Mary is a painter and really enjoys other people"s art too. She often goes to art galleries. However, she has never had enough money to travel to Paris to see the Louvre.
　　
　　Wrong: Mary is a painter and really enjoys other people"s art too. And she often goes to art galleries. But she has never had enough money to travel to Paris to see the Louvre.
