    　　However mean（窘困） your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun（逃避） it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The fault-finder（挑剔者） will find faults in paradise（天堂）. Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling（兴奋的）, glorious hours, even in a poor house. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house（贫民救济所） as brightly as from the rich man’s abode（府第）; the snow melts before its door as early in the spring. I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly（安心地，满意地） there, and have as cheering thoughts, as in a palace...Cultivate poverty like a garden herb（草）, like sage（圣贤）.
