　　过去分词或过去分词短语作状语时,表示被动和完成,在句子中可作多种状语,如时间状语、原因状语、条件状语、让步状语、结果状语等。　　一、用作时间状语　　Heated,the metal expands. 这种金属加热后即会膨胀。
　　Asked who he was,he replied that he was the mayor. 当问到他是谁时,他说他是市长。
　　Told that his mother was ill,Jim hurried home quickly. 吉姆得知母亲生病时,马上赶回了家。
　　二、用作原因状语
　　Born into a peasant family,he had only two years of schooling. 他出身于农民家庭,只上过两年学。
　　Broken down on the high way,his car was carried away by the police. 由于他的车在高速公路上坏了,于是被警察拖走了。
　　Satisfied with what he did,the teacher praised him in class. 由于老师对他所做的事情很满意,于是在班上表扬了他。
　　三、用作条件状语
