　　【剧情简介】
　　小强到王府井买东西，在新东安商场门口的雕塑附近遇到了一个哭泣的外国小男孩，周围围了一圈中国人正在议论纷纷。由于其他人不懂英语，于是小强上走上前去询问小男孩…… 问明情况以后，小强打电话报了警。（见对话一）
　　
　　在派出所里，民警仔细询问了小男孩住在哪家饭店，爷爷的名字等，可小男孩什么也说不清楚。最后民警只得要把他留在派住所等消息，但小男孩坚决不同意，非要跟听得懂他说话的小强走。于是，民警登记了小强的情况，让小强把小孩带回家。但小强一百个不乐意，但最终还是勉强同意了。（见对话二）
　　
　　小强住在父母留给他的房子里，是海军大院里的一栋二居室老房。凯文（迷路的小男孩）一进去就看上了小强的游戏机，并死活要和小强睡在一张大床上。小强正要发火，民警的电话来了，再次告诫小强要好好对待凯文，并告诉他凯文可能要暂住一段时间，如果上班就把他放在居委会。电话刚挂断，居委会的大妈就来敲门了……（见对话三）

　　（四岁的美国小男孩凯文跟随爷爷到中国玩。当爷爷到新东安市场给他买东西时，凯文执意呆在雕塑旁玩耍，可后来不知怎么，爷爷一直都没有回来。已经一个下午了，他感到害怕，哭了起来……小强出现了，问明了情况，打电话报了警。）
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: Hello, what"s wrong little man?
　　
　　Boy: I am scared, I can"t find my Grandpa.
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: Really? Don"t worry, I"m sure we can find him, where did he go?
　　
　　Boy: We were walking that way (points down the street) then I stopped to look in the store but my Grandpa disappeared. I went looking for him but I can"t find him. I don"t know what to do, can you help me to find my Grandpa?
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: This street is so crowded, he is probably looking for you right now. I bet that if we wait right here he will find us in no time at all. How about if I wait here with you for him to come back?
　　
　　Boy: OK, thank you!

　　Boy: Kevin.
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: How old are you?
　　
　　Boy: Four.

　　Kevin: Uh-huh. We are going to the Great Wall tomorrow but I am afraid he will go without me if he can"t find me.
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: Don"t worry, I know your Grandpa will keep looking for you and then you will go exploring together. You really are being such a brave boy, I"m impressed! Are you sure you"re only 4 years old?
　　
　　Kevin: Yup. I"m 4 and a half.
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: Well, I will help you find your Grandpa if you keep being a brave boy. I think we should go and let the police know that you are here now. That way your Grandpa can find you faster.

　　Police: Which hotel are you staying at?
　　
　　Kevin: I don"t know, it is a big hotel, has a big, big swimming pool.
　　
　　Police: What"s your grandfather"s name?
　　
　　Kevin: Grandpa, I call him Grandpa.
　　
　　Police: You"re so cute, you don"t know anything that will help us find your grandpa quickly so you get to stay here with us until we can find him, isn"t that great?
　　
　　Kevin: No, I don"t want to stay here, I want to go with him, I like him.
　　
　　Police: But if you stay here we can take good care of you, little guy.

　　A. 在西方国家，如果你想帮助一个迷路或者被遗弃的小孩，那么你该做的就是直接打电话报警。不然，除此以外的任何行为都可能会被误解为有绑架企图，说不定还会惹上麻烦，浪费了自己的一片好心。
　　
　　B. 在本集故事中，好心的小强在不经意中就成为了凯文的义务保姆。不过，在欧美，这种照看小孩的保姆工作一般都是由高中和大学生来兼职的。在小孩父母离家期间照看小孩，大概可以挣到每小时8至20美元不等的工资，是很受学生一族欢迎的兼职工作。但是，此类工作一般是到小孩家中去做，而不是像小强那样把孩子带回自己的家中。

　　Kevin: Yeah, you have video games! I want to play...wow, so many movies, I want to watch one now...ha, big bed, I want to sleep with you tonight (Kevin jumps onto the bed).
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: This is my home, you should be on your best behaviour, Kevin...

　　Xiao Qiang: 喂？
　　
　　Police: 我是王府井派出所的民警小王，怎么样，安顿好了吗？感谢你对我们工作的支持和配合。他爷爷还没有消息，所以这孩子可能会在你这儿住一段时间，这段时间要随时等候我们的消息，如果上班就把凯文放在居委会，我们已经和居委会打过招呼了。
　　
　　Xiao Qiang: 好，请放心，我一定会照顾好这个小外宾的，您就放一百个心吧！
　　
　　Police: 行，你知道就好，这段时间我会经常打电话和你保持联系的，你自己要有什么困难也可以和我联系，我的手机是******，OK，再见。

　　“a ball of trouble”相当于“full of trouble”，由于凯文是个小孩子，所以又用了一个“little”来修饰。由此，如果要形容一个活泼好动的小孩，就可以用“a little ball of energy”。另外，有时候也可以用“bundle”来代替“ball”，组成“a bundle of”的表达方式，意思也是“full of”的意思，而且在形容某人情绪不好时，通常是用这个词组来加以评论的，如“You"re not a bundle of laughs today, are you?”

　　2外国人在中国遇到突发事件的处理方法
　　故事中，凯文被送至王府井派出所后，哭闹着要跟小强走并获得警官同意，但这种情况在现实生活中其实是很少发生的。据北京市东城公安分局外宣处的张晶晶警官介绍，公安局遇到外国人在中国出现的各种治安或刑事案件，都是先按照中国法律进行相应处理，基于安全的考虑，一般不会轻易让普通市民独自处理。对于像故事中凯文迷路的情形，一般情况下派出所警官都会很快找到他的亲人，实在不行的话，也会联系当事人所在国家的驻京外交人员来协助进行处理。
