强调句型是英语试卷中经常出现的一个考点，其基本结构为：“It is/was＋被强调部分＋that/who＋句子的其余部分”。当被强调部分为“人”且作主语时，可用who/that；当被强调部分为“人”且作宾语时，可用who/whom/that；其他情况一律用that。下面笔者针对强调句型的易错点加以解析，希望能帮助同学们顺利解答此类题目。
1. 强调时间、地点、原因时，通常只能用that，而不能使用when，where， why。
例1It was in the park ______
Tom lost his watch.
A. that B. when
C. why D. where
解析： 答案为A。本句意为：“那是在公园,汤姆丢失了他的手表。”很多同学认为in the park后面应该接表示地点的where，误选了D。实际上，本句是强调地点的强调句型。
例2It was two years later
______ he came back from abroad.

C. where D. why
解析： 答案为A。本句意为：“他从国外回来是在两年后。”与例1相似，很多同学误选了B。实际上，本句是强调时间的强调句型。
例3It was because he was late again ______ the teacher was very angry.

解析： 答案为A。本句意为：“是因为他再次迟到使老师很生气。”有的同学认为在表示因果关系的句子中，应用why表示原因，从而误选了D。其实，本句是强调原因的强调句型。
2. 将not...until句型转换为强调句型时，应将until直接置于not后面，并将原句型中的否定改为肯定。

解析： 答案为A。本句意为：“直到10点他才上床睡觉。”乍一看，本句似乎非常复杂，但只要明白了本句是not... until的强调句型（原句为：He didn’t go to bed until ten o’clock.），就能选出正确答案了。
3. 强调主语时，谓语动词应与主语保持一致。
