　　John had been on the road visiting clients for more than three weeks. It was coming up on Mother"s Day, and he usually tried to come home, but this year he was just too tired.He said to himself, "I know what I will do. I"ll send Mom some roses."
　　John went into a small shop and saw a young man talking to the clerk."How many roses can I get for six dollars?" the young man asked. The clerk told him that roseswereexpensive andhecouldbuy some carnation.
　　"No.I have to haveroses." he said, "My Mom was sicksomuchlast year and I didn"t get to spend much time with her.I want to getsomethingspecial. It has to be red roses, because that"s her favorite."
　　John was moved by the young man"s words and decided to pay for the young man"s roses.
　　The clerk gave the young man a dozen red roses and the young man almost jumped into the air.He took the flowers and ran from the store.
　　John ordered his own flowers and had the clerk to be sure that delivery would include a note telling his mother how much he loved her.
　　As John drove home, he spotted the young man cross the street and enter a park. Suddenly he realized it wasn"t a park.It was a cemetery.John was so surprised that he wanted to follow the young man.
　　The young man stopped by a small monument and went to his knees. He carefully laid the roses on the grave. John heard the young man sobbed, "Mommy, why didn"t I tell you how much I love you.Jesus,please,find my Mommy. Tell my Mommy I love her."
　　John turned, tears in his eyes, and he decided to take the flowers personally to his mother. He wanted to tell his Mother one more time just how much he loved her.
　　
　　三个多星期以来，约翰一直在忙着见客户。母亲节就要到了。通常，约翰会尽量赶回家。不过今年他觉得很累，因而不想回家了。他对自己说：“我知道该怎么办，订束玫瑰花送给母亲吧。”
　　约翰走进一家花店，刚好看到一个年轻人在和服务员说话。“请问六美元能买多少朵玫瑰?”青年问。服务员告诉他玫瑰很贵，建议他买康乃馨。
　　“不，我想买玫瑰。”他说，“去年妈妈病得很重，可我当时没有太多的时间陪她。我想送给她点特别的东西。玫瑰应该是最好的选择，因为玫瑰是妈妈喜爱的花。”
　　青年的话深深地感动了约翰，他决定替年轻人付玫瑰花钱。
　　服务员卖给了年轻人十二朵红玫瑰，年轻人高兴得差点跳起来。拿到花后，他便跑出了花店。
　　约翰订了要送给母亲的花，并叮嘱服务员在送花时一定要附上一张卡片，告诉母亲儿子对她的爱。
　　在回家的路上，约翰无意中看到那位年轻人穿过街道，进了一个公园。突然，他意识到那不是公园，而是陵园。约翰感到很奇怪，他决定跟随青年去看个究竟。
　　青年人来到一座不大的墓碑前。他跪下来将手中的玫瑰花仔细地放在墓碑上。约翰听见年轻人啜泣道：“妈妈，为什么我没告诉您我有多爱您?上帝啊，请找到我的母亲并告诉她我爱她。”
　　约翰转过身，泪水已模糊了他的双眼。他决定亲手把花送给母亲。因为他想再一次亲口说出对母亲的爱。
