　　The pig is wronged 　　Long，long ago，the pig often helped people with their work. There was a family which had a pig and a dog. The master told the pig and the dog to till land（耕地）. The pig dug the land with its snout（猪嘴），but the dog lay on the ground sleeping. The pig urged（劝）the dog to work. The dog paid no attention to his words. The pig dug all the land himself. The dog refused to go home together with the pig. After the pig went away，the dog ran several rounds on the dug land and then went home. He said to the master，“The pig slept all day. It was I who tilled all the land.”Next day，the master went to his land and found there were only the dog’s footprints（足迹）everywhere. So he believed what the dog said. The master scolded（责骂）the pig，called him“lazy pig”and put him in the pigsty. The man trusted the dog and let him look after the house. The pig was wronged. Since then he did nothing but sleeping.
　　The camel
　　In some parts of the world there are large deserts. There are no trees and no water there. Travellers must take food and water with them.
　　The only animal who can walk through the desert is the camel. He can go without food and water for a long time，and besides he can carry heavy loads（担子）. People call the camel“the ship of the desert.”
　　The camel is very big. He has one or two humps（驼峰）on his back，short ears and a long neck. His humps hold fat and his stomach holds water in twelve deep pockets. Each pocket has a mouth which closes，and the food does not mix（混合）with the water. When the camel wants some water，he can get it out of the pockets. The camel’s food is grass and leaves of trees.
　　A strange horse
　　There are all kinds of horses in the world，but one of them you can’t ride. It doesn’t live on the land，but in the sea. Its head looks like the head of a horse，so people call it“sea horse”. In fact，the sea horse is a small fish. It likes to live in warm waters（水域）. A sea horse always stands up in the water when it swims. In order to stop swimming，it hooks（钩）its tail around some seaweed（海藻）.
　　Father sea horse carries the eggs to keep them safe in its pouch（育儿袋）until they hatch（孵出）. When the eggs are hatched，the baby sea horses swim away.
