　　位于博尔德市的岩石体操馆是全美最优秀的体操训练中心之一,许多以奥运金牌为目标的年轻选手从小就在这里进行训练。极有天分却从未受过专业培养的穷孩子埃米莉搬到这个新城市,希望从“岩石”开始踏上奥运之路,但她很快发现这里的同龄人有着各种各样的烦恼,要专心练习可不容易――佩森在全国赛中受了重伤,复出后因为身体开始发育而不得不转型为艺术型选手;凯莉以优异的表现勇夺全国冠军宝座,但最近因为减肥过度而陷入厌食症的恶性循环;萝伦有着强烈的竞争心,并不完美的家庭和爱情让她常常为了获胜而不择手段;埃米莉自己则苦于家境不好,总要为奖学金的事情操心……
