Katie Leung was born in Scotland. She is currently attending one of Scotland"s most prestigious[享有声望的] private schools, Hamilton College. Katie"s father saw an advertisement for a casting call of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and suggested Katie try out. Katie objected when she saw the length of the line[台词] at the casting auditions and said she"d rather go shopping. She waited for a total of 4 hours before she got in. The audition for her only took 5 minutes and within the next two weeks she got called in for a workshop and, from then on, she got assured[确定] the role of Cho Chang.
Q: So Katie, you"re very fortunate for this to be your first acting role. Do you wish to continue being a Hollywood actress?
Katie Leung: I haven"t really considered it. Before this I"ve always wanted to go to university and study art and design, so I don"t have a clue; I just have to wait and see. It could be a possibility because I have had such an 1)enjoyable experience, but then I don"t know if being in other productions is going to be as fun. Just have to wait and see!
Q: Have you got a designer 2)outfit for the 3)premiere yet?
Katie Leung: No I haven"t, I"m really bad at that kinda stuff. I leave everything to the last minute! I would love one but it doesn"t really matter.
Q: What advice would you give to other young hopefuls wanting to act?
Katie Leung: I think you just have to be able to live two different lifestyles. On one hand you have to 4)concentrate on your studies, yet when you"re acting you have to be a completely different person. You really have to focus. I think the most important thing is to not let it go to your head. And don"t get easily influenced by anything.
Q: So if you"ve never acted, what made you go to the 5)audition?
Katie Leung: It was all for a bit of fun, it was such a 6)coincidence! My dad was watching 7)telly and falling asleep when this 8)advert came on advertising for oriental-looking girls to audition for the part. He sat up, called me downstairs and asked me, "Do you want to be in the Harry Potter movie??I thought he knew somebody so I was like, "Yeah"? He then said, "Well you have to go to the audition.?I was 9)reluctant at first, as I have never acted and I didn"t want to make a fool of myself. But we both wanted the opportunity to go to London, so it was purely for a bit of fun but through that, I discovered I could act!
Q: How does it feel to be Harry Potter"s first kiss?
Katie Leung: It feels great! I feel even luckier and more 10)appreciative to have got this role because so many girls would do anything to be in my position. The scenes where he"s gazing at me from 11)afar were really fun to film because you had to give him this look and 12)tease him. I had to do a lot of looking back to make him think he"s got a chance when really he hasn"t because I have a boyfriend.
Q: Who do you think your character Cho would choose out of Cedric and Harry?
Katie Leung: I think Cho would go with Cedric as she was really loyal in the book. Harry"s really famous in Hogwarts and he 13)plucked up the courage to ask her to the ball, but she didn"t want to be 14)unfaithful so she turned him down in the end. I think she"s a really nice person, so Cedric would be her choice.
Q: How did you deal with the jealous 15)rumours that were going around on the Internet?
Katie Leung: I don"t think it was jealously. Because the character is based a lot on image, there are so many Harry Potter fans in the world with so many different 16)perceptions of Cho, I guess you can"t satisfy everyone. I haven"t seen any of that stuff so haven"t experienced that 17)negativity. It really hasn"t affected me at all. If it was another girl I would feel sorry for her, but it"s me and it hasn"t affected me at all.
Q: Have you treated yourself with your wages yet?
Katie Leung: I don"t need money right now, I"m just saving it for later for when I become more 18)intelligent and experienced with the whole money issue. I"m keeping it safely... in a box!

梁凯蒂：我想你必须能够习惯两种不同的生活方式。一方面你必须集中精力学习，但是演戏时你必须扮演一个完全不同的人。你真的必须学会专注。我想最重要的事情是不要让这些占据你的头脑。并且不要轻易受任何事情的影响。
问：既然你从未演过戏，是什么原因让你去参加试演呢？
梁凯蒂：完全是为了寻找一点乐趣，这纯属偶然！我爸爸正在看电视并且快要睡着的时候，忽然看到这条广告寻找东方样貌的女孩去试演这个角色。他精神为之一振，把我叫下楼去，问我：“你想不想出演《哈利・波特》电影？”我以为他认识谁，所以我说：“想啊！”接着他说：“你必须去参加试演。”一开始我觉得很为难，因为我从未演过戏，而且我不想让自己出丑。但是我们俩都希望获得这个前去伦敦的机会，所以这纯属为了寻找一点乐趣，但是从中我发现自己能够演戏！
问：得到哈利・波特的初吻感觉怎样？
梁凯蒂：感觉很棒！获得这个角色让我更觉得幸运和更加充满感激，因为很多女孩为了获得我这个角色而使出浑身解数。他遥望我的那一幕非常有趣，因为你必须向他做出这种表情并挑逗他。我必须多次回眸，从而让他认为自己有机会，而事实上他没有机会，因为我已经有男朋友。
问：你认为你扮演的角色张秋将会在塞德里克和哈利之间选择哪一个？
梁凯蒂：我想张秋会选择塞德里克，因为她在书中很专一。哈利在霍格华兹魔法学校非常有名，他鼓起勇气来邀请她参加舞会，但是她不想不忠诚，所以她最后拒绝了他。我认为她是个很好的人，所以塞德里克将会是她的选择。
问：你怎样对待互联网上散播的嫉妒的谣言？
梁凯蒂：我不觉得那是嫉妒的。因为这个角色在很大程度上是基于形象，而世界上有很多哈迷，他们对张秋有很多不同的看法，我认为你无法让所有人都满意。我还没有看到任何这种信息所以我没有受到那种负面影响。它对我完全没有影响。如果是另一个女孩面对这种情况，我会同情她，但现在当事人是我，而这完全没有影响到我。
问：你有没有用你的薪酬好好犒劳自己一番？
梁凯蒂：我现在不需要钱，我只是把它存到以后用，直到我变得更加聪明更加懂得理财。我把钱放在一个安全的地方……在一个盒子里！
