    [叶公好龙]叶公好龙的寓言故事

    　　Lord Ye"s love of the Dragon 　　 　　Lord Ye loved dragons(龙), every one said so. EverYday,Lord Ye kept (keep-kept)drawing(画)dragons here and there. In Lord Ye" s house,peoplecould see the drawings of dragons on the walls,tables,bottles and cups. What Lord Ye talked about was dragons too.
    　　A dragon in Heaven knew this,he was greatly moved(感动).He was going to come down from the sky to visit(探望)Lord Ye. One evening,it was raining(下雨) hard. The dragon came down from the sky. When it came into Lord Ye"s house from the window,there was a big thunder storm(雷雨)in the sky.Lord Ye was drawing when he heard(听见)the loud(响亮的)thunder. He looked up and saw the dragon at the window,he was so frightened(害怕)that he cried our(叫喊),"Help! Help!" The dragon from the sky was surprised(吃惊的), he was very angry(生气)and went away at once(立刻).
    　　People knew this and asked Lord Ye,"Don" t you like dragons?" Lord Ye said,"l like, the dragons drawn(draw-drew-drawn)on the walls,tables,bottles and cups,not the dragon in the sky."

    　　叶公喜欢龙，大家都这么说。每天，叶公都在画龙。他画的龙到处可见。在叶公的房子里，人们可以看见墙上、桌子上、瓶子上和杯子上画的都是龙。
    　　叶公给每一个人谈的也是龙。
    　　天上的龙知道了这件事，它很感动，想从天上下来，到叶公的家里来看一看这位老人。一天夜里，天下着大雨，龙从天上下来，当它从窗户进到叶公房里的时候，天上雷声轰隆。叶公正在画龙，当他听到轰隆的雷声，抬起头来看见了窗户上的龙，他害怕极了；大叫：“救命!救命!龙进屋了!”天上的龙非常吃惊，它很生气，立刻就走了。
    　　人们知道这件事后，问叶公：“你不是喜欢龙吗?”叶公说：“我喜欢墙上、桌子上、瓶子上和杯子上画的龙，不喜欢天上的龙。”
